MA Thesis
a sociological, psychological, and philosophical perspective of the concept of home
PUGNARIUM
10/23 - 05/24

The master's thesis PUGNARIUM examines the concept of home from sociological, psychological, and philosophical perspectives. Home is viewed as a place of security, selfrealization, and retreat. The work is based on the idea that in an uncertain and rapidly changing world, people increasingly seek a sense of belonging. Research findings indicate that home plays a central role in well-being and identity formation. Inspired by design psychology, the fashion collection PUGNARIUM aims for modernity, creativity, and longevity. It reflects the multifaceted aspects of home through symbolic elements like floral patterns, representing self-actualization and the quest for unity. The collection utilizes high-quality materials and combines functionality with aesthetics. The knits, prints and quilts of the collection mirror the diversity and complexity of the home concept. Ultimately, it is emphasized that the search for the perfect home is an ongoing process and perfection is not necessary to find a sense of belonging. The fashion collection serves as a snapshot of this process and an expression of each individual's journey.
